On arrival at Sofia Airport, our company representative will greet you and take you to your accommodation in the city centre of Sofia.

You may explore a city with a 7000-year-long history. Sights include one of the symbols of the Bulgarian capital city the 4th-century Rotunda of St. George, the remains of the ancient city of Serdica, Banya Bashi Mosque and the mineral baths. You may have a short break at the fountains next to the famous Ivan Vazov National Theatre. You can pass by the National Assembly and take a photo with the monument of King Liberator. Your tour will end with one of the most popular places in Bulgaria – the impressive Alexander Nevsky Memorial Cathedral. It was built in Neo-Byzantine style. The shine of its golden domes attracts attention from miles away.

You will enjoy a great view from the hill-fortress of Tsarevets and take some great photos before you move on to Baldwin's Tower. Today your journey starts at 08:00, after early breakfast. Take the special train on the route Veliko Tarnovo – Tryavna – Kazanlak. It crosses the Balkan Mountain range at one of its highest and beautiful parts. You will explore the small picturesque town of Tryavna. Hidden in the Balkan Mountains and famous for its woodcarving traditions and authentic Revival architecture, Tryavna will impress you. Feel the spirit of the past and visit the wood-carved sun-ceilings of "Daskalova" house. The Clock Tower – one of the symbols of Tryavna, stands in the centre of the town. The Old Bridge is another interesting monument you may visit.

Your journey continues to Kazanlak, famous as the Rose Valley and Thracian kings. Once you arrive in the afternoon, you can have a brief visit to the Rose Museum. This is the only museum in the world, dedicated to the oil-yielding plant – rose. You may learn interesting facts about the cultivation of Rosa Damascena, the rose harvest and the rose distillation process itself.

Walkthrough along the longest pedestrian street in Europe. Known as the City of the seven hills, it is one of the oldest cities in Europe, founded about 8 000 years ago. Today’s Plovdiv is a cultural centre of Bulgaria and European Capital of Culture in 2019. Plovdiv’s appeal derives mainly from its lovely Old town, largely restored to its mid-19th-century appearance. Take a photo with the Ancient Amphitheatre, the Ethnographic Museum and end up visiting the fashionable Kapana art district. You will also enjoy the stunning views from the top of Archaeological Complex Nebet Tepe.

Your journey begins with a visit to the Holy Trinity church, which is a symbol of Bansko and brightest achievement of the Renaissance culture. Next stop is the Bansko Permanent Icon Exhibition housed in the oldest preserved building in Bansko, built-in 1749.
Now let's immerse in the uniqueness of our spirit, traditional cuisine, dances and local crafts. Your hosts will prepare a delicious lunch with a homemade taste. Try the tasty caramelized sweeties, dance Bulgarian folk dance, wear festive clothes or learn about the traditional methods of weaving and spinning (Optional: lunch and entertainment program, available on our Extras).

After lunch, you will head towards Rila Monastery (UNESCO site). This is the largest monastery in Bulgaria, located at 1150m. You may admire its arcaded balconies, unique frescoes, azure fretwork, colonnades, facades combined with a fantastic panorama of mountain peaks.

Once you arrive at Sofia, enjoy the rest of the afternoon to explore Sofia at your leisure. You can do some shopping, relax at a café on Vitosha street or buy souvenirs.
